Nouns used verbally: the most common is impact. This is not a verb but hey, I think we've probably lost this one.

But...privilege? advantage? foreground? critique? This is all an import of sociological jargon with some dread lit.crit, thrown in. Avoid it!

I used to think that the word 'opportunity' meant something like an opening, a chance for someone to do something that would bring them benefit. These days though, it seems to mean that person is invited to do something that will bring benefit to someone else, as in...'An opportuniy has opened up for fortunate individuals to contribute to our organisation for nothing...' You'd be surprised how often supposedly right-on types put out documents written like that.

We seem to have only one preposition left in current use: 'around'...especially when it is coupled with 'issues'.

And what are 'issues' anyway?
